Daily Updates

3:00AM to 6:30AM Paige has been up drifting in and out of sleep watching the Animal Planet.

9:30 AM to 12:20 PM after waking from her sleep Paige was up watching TV.

1:45 PM to 2:00 PM after waking from her sleep Paige was up watching TV.

4:00 PM to 5:00 PM after waking from her sleep Paige was up watching TV.

Paigee's breathing is very shallow today. A noticeable change from the past week or so. Hospice calls this a "Respiratory Component", which I interpret as Pneumonia. Oral Morphine can help with the shortness of breath but there is no further treatment according to Sharon. She did mention she hoped this woulldn't happen. Isn't it amazing how you delude yourself all along into thinking she'll go peacefully in her sleep ! I guess the roller coaster ride doesn't stop until it's really all over. Hospice is nearby and making a unplanned visit, more to follow. The Upside... the sound was from fluid in Paigee's throat not in her lungs. Her Pulseox is still very normal and she is moving air well. At least now I feel like I have a better handle on the situation, Rosie never had a problem and was quite comfortable, I hope it's just a Dad thing and not unique to me ! The Downside... if she does end up with Pneumonia it is hard for the parents because there is so little you can do to make it easier on Paigee.
