Sigh of Relief, please God, please !
Monday night in Wilson it was obvious that a very large bump
had resurfaced at the same location as the tumor we found last
August.
Panic set in...
If she relapses right now they will stop treatment. The next
choice is what experimental drug will we try ! In our minds
these next 4 cycles won't ever end.
We watched 2 other Stage 3 Rhabdos relapse late last year and
not respond to experimental drugs....both girls died within 2
months of the first of this year. Paige is Stage 4, and
has less chance of surviving than the 2 Stage 3's; eventhough
she has outlived one and has lasted about as long as the other.
Frantic calls home and we have a Stat CT Scan scheduled for
Thursday the day after we return from North Carolina. The short
version is that there is nothing visible on the CT Scan and
the only explanation for the bump is "Vascular". One less
defeat right now.
Hmm, amazingly we make our scheduled Chemo cylce eventhough we
have been told we are at the end of a very long queue ( letters
from concerned Parents must hold considerable weight ). We
end up in a room with a 4 1/2 year old Neuroblastoma ( also Stage
4 ), the nicest roomie you could ask for. So on the neighbor
front we have been blessed.
Pattie and the kids arrive and head for tomorrow's Hospital visit.
