The Sabbath
Today we paid homage to God while reveling in his
wonderful creations on exhibit at the Museum of
Natural Sciences in Raleigh. Paige is quite the
animal lover like cousin David, at the Museum she
was in her element.
She spent a considerable portion of the visit in
a lifelike exhibit of the Amazon. A two toed Sloth
hung from a tree while the most beautiful Butterflies
and Moths swirled around us. The little Miss captured
and held her share of the exhibit's flying creatures
and generally was in her normal creepy crawly bliss.
Sam and Liz ventured to the Cafe and gave Paige time
to get her fill of creepy/crawly.
Yes, and there were enough snakes to keep Paige happy.
Sam was a bit skiterish and was quite the sport while
Paige tried to see how brave her Sister/Cousin was.
We were lucky enough to see the infamous Copperhead
that is so prevalent in the City of Wilson. The beautiful
home that Celso, Liz and Samantha live on is bordered
by a small creek. Creeks are a favorite habitat for
the Copperhead. Personally I found the snake to be
a very beautiful creature. The colors/shades reminded
me of a soft light shining on velvet. In case you
didn't know the Copperhead is quite poisonous and is
related to the Water Moccasin.
After the Museum Paige moped around, obviously missing
her new friends Eric and William. I think that the
return to Wilson was late enough that she missed getting
some play time in with the boys; early to bed since the
next day is a school day. Aunt Liz and Paige stayed
up to 1AM watching Cheaper By the Dozen ( the newest
version ).
