Giggling ...
Paige is in the bathroom with her puppy. That
girl is a giggler. Today there is no school
and Paige is headed to a friends for a day of
fun and play. Alex and his little sister Rebeca
have a retired Grey Hound named Mo(tzart) that
Paige is in love with.
Oh, Paige was released yesterday. Her counts
soared back to normal ranges and off we went.
Amazing how fast you can pack a room up and
be out of the Hospital headed home.
Thursday we finally had somewhat of an audience
regarding the events of the stay at Santa Clara
Valley Hospital. I contacted Paige's Nurse
Practitioner ( NP ) and requested she contact
her counterpart (Selma) at a Pediatric Oncology
Group in Walnut Creek. Please coordinate with
them regarding the release of Paige's records for
an appointment we have there next Wednesday.
The NP Lynn comes back to Paige's room after
speaking to Selma and is shaken up a bit. First
she tells me she has spoken to April the Bed
Coordintor at Packard and has her promise that
we will not be transferred out of Packard again.
That's fine I say, but this is the second time that
we have received that promise, why should I
believe it now that it's been broken once ?
I'm wondering why April isn't here or hasn't
come by in the 5 days that we have been back
at Packard. My message to Lynn ( obviously being
carried back to someone with greater authority )
is that we are serious that we have control over
where Paige is Hospitalized. Lynn tells me that
after speaking to Selma she has found that Walnut
Creek wants us to go there first for F&N and if
a bed is not available then call Packard; Lynn is
quite shaken.
I think Packard will take us seriously now when
we say we won't be sent to another Hospital.
Let's see what happens ! I have mailed a request
to the Director of the Pediatric Oncology Group
at Packard with a summary of the events at SCVH
and have requested a review to determine if Paige
was at risk during her stay at SCVH.
