And off they went !
Mom and Dad tried to keep busy again while Paige reveled
in the loving care of Auntie Liz and Sammie. It was a
big surprise that the same Antiques that make it to the
better coast went for such a higher price on the "other"
coast. Ah, who has money anymore !
Off to the races they went. Paige and Liz on board go-cart
#9 and Sammie on #6...the light turned green and off they
went. Sliding into turn 1 Sammie had a slight advantage, Liz
and Paige were losing ground. Paige was screaming, "Oh
Cool", Liz tried to remain focused on the track. The
roar of the engines was deafening, yet Sammie continued
to pull away. The experts were a buzz; was it the higher
weight to HP ratio or the better skills of the younger
driver. In the back straightaway Paige continued her
primal scream, "Oh Cool" while Liz fought to keep the cart
on the track. Sammie took the next turn too fast and
bounced off the hay bail but maintained her lead however
slight. Perhaps slowing too much Liz oversteered and
her engine died. Sam continued through the checkered
flag while Liz and Paige pushed their cart back to the
pits. Both teams celebrated the race at the arcades
and moved on the El Tapatillo for a spicy lunch.
Later in the evening needing a Paige fix ( although
we were warned not to come ) we headed to Wilson for
a quick visit. Although not admitting to anything it
was a little obvious Paige was missing her Parents.
However, she again declined an offer to come back to
the Hotel with us... On our way out she yelled, "don't
come back tomorrow, I'm having too much fun". Eric
Via, the eight year old and Paige have become muy
simpatico.
best wishes
