Primal Scream !

Dad, how long before we get there ( after boarding
the Body Glove Trimaran for a snorkeling adventure
in the Pa` Wai Bay, Paige just couldn't believe how
long it was taking to get from the dock to the
dive site ). A rather relaxing 45 minute ride for
me was an eternity to Paige. Paige is a very reserved
little girl and has never acted out, nor complained
that I have ever witnessed.

Snorkel Fish, one of the Crew called all of us that

When we found out that Camp Okizu let the C. Patients
swim we asked for more information so we too could
let Paige do this. After a swim, if a change of the
opsite/biopatch was done it was ok'd at Okisu to swim.
Now that we knew what was acceptable Rosie and I
experimented with at least 10 different tapes/dressings
to waterproof the bandage that covers the Hickman and
the opening to Paige's chest. 200$ later we found a
tape that held reasonably well, the integrity of the
opsite bandage was maintained.

Camp Okizu

Now properly prepared and waterproofed for swimming
we are finally at the dive site.

The announcement over the PA;
"snorkeling class on top deck ..."

Paige was quite determined to head to the front of the line
of people jumping into the water, "Dad I don't want to take a
class !" Five minutes of class and back in line descending
into the unbelievably blue and clear water ....

As brave as she was, the thought of how large the Ocean was
got the best of her and we lasted long enough in the water
to for a blood thirsty scream and to make it over to the ladder
back onto the ship ! I thought back to when I was six and agreed
it would have been too daunting a task even for me when I was
her age. We discovered the pleasure of her MP3 player and the
remaining 3 hours went by quickly !

Janette in the picture with Paigee was the sweetest person you
could meet. I don't remember, but she was from city in Maryland
with a Nuclear Power Plant. She was very appropriate with Paigee
and made a big impression on both Paigee and I. Janette owned
a time share in Kailuah-Kona.
