Flash, Story coming in

Yesterday. At the Carter Corrals, in Walnut Creek, California.
A Gray and Brown speckled Arabian was the source of great charity.
Paigee's Nurse Practioner Stacey and Sister Maria donated about
1 hour of their day so Paigee could feel like the center of attention.
On the scene was the beautiful and equally adorable Sophia, Sacey's 14
month old daughter. Sophia was shined to a polish prior to her
adventure...

After a cooling bath, Saba was mounted with a Western style saddle
and the group headed to the corral. A brief introduction to riding
was all that was required and Paigee was riding like a pro. Having
mastered stop, getty-up, and both left and right turns, Paigee rode
with the confidence of a girl raised on a Horse Ranch. As the group
looked on stunned over this Prodigy and her riding, Sophia played
in the sand and dirt nearby. Roseanne the owner of the stable
looked on as Sophia played, commenting that she felt Sohpia had the
horse gene that her Aunt Maria did. At times it was difficult deciding
which girl to watch, Sophia is such a beauty.

Once Saba had been adequately exercised, she was allowed free reign
in the Corral. Maria led Paigee to an area of the Stable that was
known to have frogs. Paigee reveled in the sliminess as Sophia watched
on in the mud nearby. Both girls know how to enjoy themselves in
an environment other girls may show no interest in.

The next morning while telling her Mother all about the ride, Paige
just had us on the floor laughing. When asked if she had riden
Saba at a gallop, Paige responded, "Mom, I couldn't, Saba was an older
horse !" It's a good thing she realized that, her Mother and I both
fear she would have killed the horse if she got to do what she really
wanted to do. Watch out aspiring Rodeo riders, like everything she does, Paigee approaches everything like a fearless Cherokee Warrior ( ha, ha ).

Pictures coming in as this was updating...

*** As silly and goofy as they are, these stories will be my journal to
look back on and remember these days. I share them because Paigee keeps
us laughing, even in the midst of all that is going on. She really lives
in the moment !

Was this Paigees first experience w/horse riding? I love the stories, Chris. Your excellent written account makes the visuals very easy. I share them w/Mom and she loved Chi Chi's regime of 2 baths a day, etc. Keep 'em coming!
love, Jan
